Castle Hill Inn, Newport Rhode Island is one of the finest wedding and event facilities on the east coast with fine dining, spas and an unparallelled location. The water views and grounds are spectacular.
It is fitting that their flooring should set the tone. Madstone Floors was brought in to restore the old and worn stamped concrete covering 8,000 sf of interior and exterior floors.

As you can see the old stamped concrete was worn and unattractive. The sealers has worn off and were absorbing dirt and grime. Removing and replacing concrete was not an option. The solution we provided was to resurface and stamp a new textured surface with colors and granite design that blended with the landscape and the decor at Castle Hill.
The process started with extensive surface preparation including shotblasting, etching and cleaning. We applied a 1/4 inch thick cementitious overlay manufactured by Elite Crete then we stamped the concrete with a bluestone texture.
Once cured, we cut a pattern into the flooring to give the appearance of natural slabs of bluestone. The final step was to seal the surface.
We used 3 different colors in various areas including exterior patio and interior bar and dining room.
